His beard was black and one of legs was of wood.The pirate had a pistol in each hand and a dagger in his mouth.Suddenly, they saw a pirate climbing up through the window.Belinda and her pets mocked Custard for his timidity.He spat fire and had daggers on his toes. Only Custard was considered as a coward who always ‘cried for a nice safe cage.’.All other pets were considered sharp and brave.Her pets contained a black kitten, Ink, a grey mouse, Blink, a yellow dog, Mustard and a dragon named Custard.
Dragon who is generally meek and coward shows his bravery at the right moment and saves everyone from the pirate. The pet has tried to convey a message in this simple poem ‘never’ judge a book by its cover. The dragon, however, surprised everyone with his heroic act of killing a pirate, who had come to Belinda’s house and meant harm to her and her pets.
